Melting Love

Like a beautiful scented candle
Love touched me with its fragrance
It lit a spark
burning my heart away
I glowed as I adored the long flame
It made me serene
I felt like a queen
It burned so strong
I felt its warmth
Soon the wind blew
Came a fearful storm
That tore everything away
I tried to guard the sparse flame
With my folded palm
As it struggled to live

And then as a candle changes its shape, just melting away
I felt my love changing too
I watched it with teary eyes
There was nothing I could do
Love starts so soon
And ends so fast
Before you realise
It dies before your eyes
Just as the melting candles do
