Why choose an infrared sauna?

As you might be aware of, sweating is good way to burn some calories and detox your body. But if you are injured, then how do you sweat? Or when you are unable to exercise?

I really like to sweat in an infrared sauna. Infrared saunas help your body release a number of toxins, which includes heave metal, and some environmental chemicals. Well there is still more benefits than that. You can actually lose weight, relax, relieve pain and make your skin healthier.

I’ve made a list of 6 benefits, that you can get from using and infrared sauna.

1. Detox

One of the body’s most natural way to eliminate toxins, is to sweat. It is therefore a very crucial part of detoxification. When compared to some of the traditional saunas, infrared saunas allows you to eliminate almost ten times more toxins.

2. Relaxing

Infrared saunas helps balancing your body’s level of cortisol. Cortisol is the body’s primary stress hormone. The heat which is made from the sauna, will help your muscles to relax and relieve tension throughout the body, allowing you to relax and de-stress.

3. Relieving pain

If you have muscle aches or joint pain, then infrared saunas will relieve the inflammation by increasing the blood circulation, and relaxing your muscles.

4. Losing weight

The heat coming from the infrared sauna will cause your core temperature to increase. Which can lead to an increased heart rate — actually the same as when you are exercising. When your body has to work harder to lower your core temperature, or work harder to keep up with your heart rate, your body will automatically begin to burn calories.

5. Better circulation

As your body temperature starts to increase because of the heat, your circulation will increase along with it. Consistent sessions in the sauna, can stimulate blood flow, improve muscle recovery, and therefore decrease pain and inflammation.

6. Purifying the skin

The infrared saunas can help purify your skin by elimination toxins from the pores. This will result in much smoother skin and you will become a healthier-looking person.

Infrared levels

It is common that infrared sauna treatments use different levels, I will explain further:

Near-infrared levels are best for healing wounds.

Middle-infrared levels are good for increasing the blood circulation and relaxing muscles.

Far-infrared levels are used for detox.

These different levels represent the sizes in infrared wavelengths and shows how intense the treatment is.

If you have not used infrared saunas before, then I recommend that you start with only 4-minutes, and then you can slowly work yourself up to 15- and 30-minute sessions.
