I Had a Hit Record 30 Years Ago?

I never knew!

For 15 years of my adult life, I derived all my income as a musician backing bands and artists (both obscure and famous) on guitar or bass, writing songs, playing recording sessions, arranging for strings and horns, and even producing recordings.

And while I had a few records make it to the Billboard charts, I never did have that all-elusive hit record. Or so I thought!

Then when an English record company called from overseas and offered to advance me $2500 for the rights to re-release a record I’d recorded 30 years before, I came to discover I’d actually reached my goal of having that hit way back when— but in Europe — and was totally unaware!
