on partnership | a poem

I take your hands in mine
squeezing them tight
giving you a tug toward me...
but your balance is better than mine
as always
so you don’t budge
an inch.

And I’m the one who falls
into you instead,
nearly toppling over laughing,
smiling my eyes
into your eyes.

This falling for you thing…
is kind of a daily occurrence.
